Frequently Asked Questions
Q:How does this procedure work?
A: These specifically designed and engineered devices are worn four waking hours and all night long. The energy of the swallowing mechanism is harnessed providing intermittent pressure on the bones of the face, causing the bones to change shape. There is no stress on the teeth, they gently go along for the ride and are straightened by special springs that are adjusted by the dentist.
Q: Can an adults bones change shape?
A: Bone is essentially plastic in nature. Tension and intermittent pressure persuade the bones to redefine at any age. In fact, our typical patient is between 30 and 60 years old. In the upper dental arch nature has provided a suture line front to back between the two bones that form the palate. This allows for an easy widening process and as the palate expands, the cheekbones as well, creating more prominence. The bonus in most cases, is the reduction of lines and wrinkles due to additional support to the facial tissues.
Q: Can this procedure protect my teeth?
A: Yes! The Homeblock™ is designed to correct underdeveloped jaws which, typically, have crowded teeth, difficult maintenance logistics and less than optimal bone to support healthy teeth. Engineering the jaws development creates more room for better tooth alignment and greater tooth support.
Q: Can this improve my overall health?
A: Yes! Straighter teeth help reduce gum shrinkage and tartar build-up which allows for optimum maintenance conditions. Orthopedic jaw development, particularly arch expansion, allows for improved sinus drainage and widens airflow passages. This can result in snoring reduction and lessened symptoms of sleep apnea. In addition the cosmetic enhancement gives a psychological boost that strengthens both mental and physical health.

A: One can experience any or all of the following: The stimulation of a stronger jawline. Intensified cheekbone prominence. Voice enhancement. Improved facial balance and skin tone. Arresting and reversing the premature aging of the face. A perfect smile.
